Benefit from my experience
Hi, I’m Shyam. I learned German after moving to Germany, earned my B2 certificate here and have lived in Germany since 2015.
I understand German both from the learner’s side and from years of using it in everyday, work-related and formal situations. I also understand difficulties Indian learners may face that are not always obvious to a native speaker.
I did my BTech from IIT Madras, clearing the JEE exam (AIR716). Benefit from my experience preparing through focused self-study. Instead of surface learning of content, we understand the structure, identify what is difficult and practise the skills that need improvement.
Start Where You Are

Why Guided Practice Works
We have guidede practice between the live lessons. Important German needs to be recalled, used, checked and repeated across the week.
Practising across several days produces better long-term L2 retention than concentrating practice into one session. This has been demonstrated for vocabulary and grammar/syntax.
Recall words and sentence patterns without simply reading the answer. Having students actively recall vocabulary and language rather than repeatedly rereading it improves learning.
Find what is still difficult and correct it before moving on. Retrieval combined with feedback lets students find and repair what they cannot yet produce correctly.
Exercises, listening, writing and later classroom reuse give the material repeated encounters rather than one exposure during class. Distributed L2 practice also supports fluency development.
Research in language learning supports spaced practice, active retrieval, repeated use and corrective feedback. We chose 3–4 hours as a realistic workload for completing the necessary practice across a 16-week programme.
Learn the Level and Prepare for the Exam
Exam preparation runs through the programme.
Learn the task formats, timing and strategies for reading, listening, writing and speaking.
Practise under exam conditions, identify weak areas and correct them before the final exam.
The aim is not only to pass. Build German that remains useful afterwards.
Learn the Level. Build the Skills Behind It.
Knowing German and being able to use it are not the same.
Learn
Understand the grammar, vocabulary and patterns required.
Practise
Work deliberately on the skills that need improvement.
Retrieve
Bring German back when you need to use it.
Correct
Fix recurring weaknesses before they become habits.
Apply
Use what you learn in exams and real situations.
Quality Before Quantity
Strengthen important German before continually adding more.
Find the Real Difficulty
A speaking problem may actually be listening, pronunciation, structure or retrieval.
Challenge Without Overwhelm
Work on the next useful difficulty, strengthen it, then expand.
Build German You Can Actually Use
The certificate may be the immediate goal. German still needs to work outside the exam room.
Practise useful language, likely replies and how to respond when a conversation does not follow the sentence you prepared.
